What is Honour Society?

Honour Society is OPA-SV's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)!

We build bridges between parents, teachers, and students. In collaboration with the school administration, we're helping foster community and create a school where kids are supported, teachers empowered, and parents engaged. Whether it's launching fundraising drives, supporting teachers in the classroom, or getting creative with networking and communication, we're turning ideas into action and our school into a vibrant and nurturing place for all students. Because we believe that with teamwork, sunny optimism and a dash of school spirit, anything is possible!

All parents and teachers are automatically members of Honour Society! Our Honour Society Board is made up of hard-working parents, supported by parent volunteers and school administration, staff, and teachers, who collectively pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. Whether big or small, thank you for getting involved and all that you do! 

what are our plans for your money this year?

For this school year, we have allocated our budget into the following categories:

• Classroom Support Grants & Majors – teacher grants and classroom resources
• School Library! – we are excited to support the new school library with books, cozy chairs, shelving, tables and a librarian. Any funds raised in excess of our budget will mean MORE library funds!
• Art Program through Meet the Masters – art education program for our Champions
• Assemblies & Performances – student enrichment programs, grade level plays, and cultural celebrations
• Fundraising – Blackwell's costs, support of school site events, staff appreciation, CAASPP Cum Laude reception, and local outreach
• Community Events – Jog-A-Thon, Bowl with your Professor, Fall Family Fun Night, and Spring Event costs, online platform fees, and costs of prizes
• Spirit Wear and Book Fairs – purchase of inventory, supplies, decorations, and event costs
• Field Trips – support of all grade level field trips on and off campus, and walkthroughs
• Admin – supplies, operations, insurance, software, website, tax return prep, state sales tax
• Campus Improvements – beautification, playground equipment, school garden, and other projects
