Meet the Executive Board

Honour Society is made up of hard-working parents and teachers who serve as volunteers. Think you might like to try a leadership role? There is one open board position and several committee chair positions available for Fall 2024.

President - Tami Nowzaree

Tami Nowzaree is a versatile woman who started as a stay-at-home mom and then became involved in her children's school as a volunteer. She turned her passion for community involvement into a career as a Realtor, helping families find their ideal home. Tami enjoys reading, fitness, traveling, and stays involved in her community and children's school. She looks forward to supporting her children's growth and helping families become part of the OPA Honour Society community.

VP of communications - susan rahyar

Susan is one of the world’s most okayest moms of two boys. For the OPA SV 24-25 school year, her big guy will be a 5th grader and her tiny bubs in 2nd. She is an epic carpool member and a mobile snack distribution machine. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and when you don’t see her at school, she’s probably instructing a Lagree class. Prior to being so extra as a mom, she spent a decade and a half managing contracts and intellectual property. This really prepared her for saying “oh no, what were you thinking” in an acceptable way, which has been a huge help in her volunteer efforts at the school.

Theresa Alderson, Wife, Mother of Three and a Teacher! A Texas native but have lived on the West Coast since I was in my early twenties. I spent most of my career in the Marketing Field as a Director of Special Events with the Wynn Group of Las Vegas. In early 2000, I switched gears and moved abroad for four years. As I lived and worked in Barcelona, Spain I found a love for teaching the locals English. I made a huge career change and pursued my Teaching Credential and Masters of Education to become an Elementary School teacher in California. Although I love to teach, my greatest achievement is my family. I have been married for twelve years and have a beautiful step daughter, and two wonderful twin boys. Our passion is traveling and spending as much time as we can at our condo in Maui! We are avid swimmers, snorkelers and beach goers! We have been at OPA going into our 6th year and we are proud CHAMPIONS! It is an honor to serve alongside some amazing families in the Honour Society. I look forward to serving our school and to a great year!
