Meet the Executive Board

Honour Society is made up of hard-working parents and teachers who serve as volunteers. Think you might like to try a leadership role? There is one open board position and several committee chair positions available for Fall 2023.

President - Theresa alderson

Theresa Alderson, Wife, Mother of Three and a Teacher! A Texas native but have lived on the West Coast since I was in my early twenties. I spent most of my career in the Marketing Field as a Director of Special Events with the Wynn Group of Las Vegas. In early 2000, I switched gears and moved abroad for four years. As I lived and worked in Barcelona, Spain I found a love for teaching the locals English. I made a huge career change and pursued my Teaching Credential and Masters of Education to become an Elementary School teacher in California. Although I love to teach my greatest achievement is my family. I have been married for eleven years and have a beautiful step daughter, and two wonderful twin boys. Our passion is traveling and spending as much time as we can at our condo in Maui! We are avid swimmers, snorkelers and beach goers! We have been at OPA going into our 5th year and we are proud CHAMPIONS! It is an honor to serve alongside some amazing families in the Honour Society. I look forward to serving our school and to a great year!

President-Elect - tami nowzaree

Tami Nowzaree is a versatile woman who started as a stay-at-home mom and then became involved in her children's school as a volunteer. She turned her passion for community involvement into a career as a Realtor, helping families find their ideal home. Tami enjoys reading, fitness, traveling, and stays involved in her community and children's school. She looks forward to supporting her children's growth and helping families become part of the OPA Honour Society community.

VP of student development - michele barto

Michele has been a member of the OPA community for 5 years. As she embarks on her 6th year at OPA, her oldest son will enter 8th grade and youngest son will enter 4th grade. Michele has served on the Honour Society since 2021. Both years she held the position as VP of Student Development. She enjoys using her time and talents to serve our champions, professors and everyone in the OPA community. Michele has volunteered in many capacities both on and off campus, and was selected to serve on the OPA Parent Ambassador team for the 2023-2024 school year. She also participates in numerous volunteer activities throughout Orange County and is dedicated to raising her boys to think beyond themselves and be of service to others as much as possible. In addition to being an enthusiastic fan at her kids’ sporting events, she loves to read a good book, play a variety of games, and travel.

VP of communications - susan rahyar

Susan is one of the world’s most okayest moms of two boys. For the OPA SV 23-24 school year, her big guy will be a 4th grader and her tiny bubs in 1st. She is an epic carpool member and a mobile snack distribution machine. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and when you don’t see her at school, she’s probably instructing a Lagree class. Prior to being so extra as a mom, she spent a decade and a half managing contracts and intellectual property. This really prepared her for saying “oh no, what were you thinking” in an acceptable way, which has been a huge help in her volunteer efforts at the school.

VP of community programs - amanda uphill

My name is Amanda Uphill and I am excited to join the Honor Society as VP of Community Programs. I am an aunt and nanny to Jaelynn Cast who started OPA in Kindergarten and will soon be going into the second grade. I have enjoyed volunteering at different events and cannot wait to be more involved.

VP of finance - OPEN

Recording Secretary - mandy cast

My name is Mandy Cast and I am incredibly thrilled about having the chance to be a part of this amazing team and to actively contribute to the success of our Champions. My daughter, Jaelynn, has attended OPA-SV since Kindergarten and is currently in the 2nd Grade for the 2023-2024 school year. My husband, Pablo, has four older children who previously attended OPA-SV before graduating to high school. I was born and raised right here in Orange County and am now looking forward to being more involved in our school as a member of the Honour Society.

VPs of spirit - erin razban & jill porter

Erin Razban served as the Honour Society President for two school years 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 as well as VP of Volunteers during 2020/2021 for OPA–SV Honour Society. She has two boys in third and fifth grades. Erin has helped to start the new OPA Middle School Honour Society. Erin is a geography professor, sailor, traveler, cook and runs a home business. She is excited to serve our OPA–SV Honour Society to help provide exceptional, enriching and engaging educational opportunities for all of our students.

Jill is a lady who gets things done. When no one else wanted to help, she stepped up and handled spiritwear for us last year. If she isn’t busy taking her boys to piano, she’s taking a Lagree class (but weirdly not Susan’s). She is great to get as a Secret Santa person because her wishlists are always very thorough.
