Read-A-Thon

MARCh 1 - 15th

We are excited to launch our 5th annual Read-A-Thon, supporting our school and each student’s personal reading development goal. This fundraiser will support teacher and classroom needs, online enrichment programs, books and learning materials, as well as school improvements. During the next few weeks, your Champions can track the minutes they read, collect pledges from family and friends, and have the opportunity to earn some amazing prizes!

How it Works

Make a pledge to encourage reading, and raise money for our school. Our Read-A-Thon will be based on time your child has spent reading at home (with you or on their own). Our goal for each student is 20 minutes per day, for an overall goal of 150,000 reading minutes. The Read-A-Thon will take place from March 1st-15th and final pledge donations and minutes read must be submitted by March 15th at 10pm.

Two Ways to Make a Pledge:

FLAT DONATION - You can sponsor a student with a flat amount.

PLEDGE PER MINUTE - You can pledge an amount for minutes read. For example, if your student reads 200 minutes and you donate 20 cents per minute, then your child earns $40.

Get Started!

1. Create Your Student’s Pledge Page

We’ve partnered with 99Pledges to make donating quick and easy! To add your child as a participant, please follow these 3 easy steps:

1. Go to this link:

2. Enter your child’s name, enter your email, and select the group/class your child belongs to.

3. Click “Add” > this will take you to your newly created pledge page!

Every student will receive a special prize from their teacher, just for creating a pledge page by March 5th!

2. Spread the Word & Collect Donations

Make your donation and SHARE your student’s pledge page link with friends and family using the share links under the donate button. We are shooting for 100% participation so no amount is too small.

3. Read and Track

Track the minutes read online by clicking on the “Track” tab on your student’s private profile management page. Let’s make reading fun!

Matching Gift Program

We appreciate your support to our organization and have great news to share with you that can potentially DOUBLE your donation! Did you know that many companies offer Matching Gift Programs which financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations? Your donation may be eligible for a matching gift through your employer and your family members and friends who also contributed can do the same!

Thanks to your generosity, we are close to reaching our goal of $35,000 and have extended the deadline to donate in order to hit our target. Your company’s Matching Gift, if available, can help put us over the top!
